After several rounds of competition, 67 Bricks and Bone & Joint have taken home the ALPSP Award for Innovation in Publishing for their AI-generated podcasts.
At the ALPSP conference in Manchester this year, Lexy Hudson from Bone & Joint presented a lightining update on the tool, summarising how it integrates seamlessly into the editorial workflow. She described how the tool is engaging readers globally, and how delighted the authors have been with the end result. Security was also discussed, with it being made clear that the tool worked on a closed system, so all data and copyright remained protected. She finally commented that the tool had also helped the team to think bigger about what they could achieve, and how technology can empower even small organisations to meet their audience's needs in new ways.
Since the launch, the feedback from authors and listeners has been incredibly positive, for example:
“Brilliant. I was thinking this summarizes our papers better than I often do when creating a presentation. I thought the content was well constructed and conclusions appropriate.”
“I appreciate the innovative approach you’re taking to make journal content more accessible and engaging for the orthopaedic community.”
“The podcast sounds very natural and professional. The content is accurate and it is presented in a very easy going manner. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
We are delighted to share the award with the Bone & Joint team, and hope for even more recognition in the future as part of the ongoing development partnership.
